This past September, the prize winner was announced at an award ceremony.
The Caine Prize for African Writing is a charity that brings African writing to a broader
audience through its annual literary award for the best short story by an African writer
from anywhere in the globe. In addition to the Prize, the Caine charity connects readers
with African writers through public events and helps emerging African writers through annual Caine Prize workshop, which takes place in different African countries each
year. By virtue of her accomplishments in the literary world, Siphiwe Gloria Ndlovu is
one of the writers chosen to be a part of the panel of judges. According to the East
African magazine, this year’s competition witnessed 320 entries spanning 28 African
countries!
