BAIT THE TOAD

ISBN 9781733547451 | hardcover| $14.95 | Oct 2023

"Bait has the prettiest eyes. I started taking photos of him on our walks. Then I used colored polymer clay to make him hats. When I posted my pictures on TikTok, my friends started watching them. Other people liked them, too."

So begins the story of Bait, TikTok star, up-and-coming hat model, and camera-lover. Now he's gracing the pages of this adorable book loaded with photos of our (and soon to be your) favorite toad, all styled and shot by 14-year-old Kendra Powers.

Bait is ready to prove that toads have what it takes to make it big.

Nothing will stop him from becoming the world’s next top supermodel… certainly not the fact that he’s an amphibian. (Bait would like to stress that frogs and toads are entirely different—and while frogs must be kissed to become princes, toads are plenty royal on their own, thank you very much.) Whether it’s sporting sassy homemade hats, striking confident poses in the garden, or hanging out with his furry friends, this tiny toad has a lot to teach us all about being comfortable in our own skin. Brighten up your day or make a loved one laugh with Bait and his pals, a perfect gift for any age.

PRAISE FOR BAIT THE TOAD

“This is a gift for that person who has everything. [...] A little bit of laughter and joy for someone in your life.”—Andie Miller, The Good Book Appreciation Society

"Filled with pictures of Bait hamming it up for the camera, it's a perfect little book for the amphibian lover in your life." —Skylark Books

"Vivid and adorable photos of Bait fill the tiny pages of this book. In some photos he is alone, in others he shares the camera with a friend. He shows off many clever polymer clay hats while he enjoys nature and life. His popularity rose via Tik Tok after being found and raised by the photographer. Very cute!"—Youth Services Review
